Rydos records rides on your iPhone. This page explains, plainly, what stays on your device, what Apple Health involves, and what Rydos does not do.
The short version
No account. No server. Your data stays on your phone.
Rydos was built to work without asking you to hand anything over. The points below are the whole story; the rest of this page fills in the detail.
- No sign-in Rydos has never asked for an account, a password or an email address.
- No server The app makes no network requests of its own. Nothing you record is sent anywhere by Rydos.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking There is no advertising identifier, no analytics SDK and no crash reporter in the app, and no cookies or trackers on this website.
On your device
What Rydos stores, and where
Everything below lives inside Rydos's own app container on your iPhone. iOS keeps that space private to the app; Rydos doesn't move it anywhere else on its own.
- Ride data Rides, individual samples, the exact Bluetooth bytes received from your sensors, connection events and trainer commands are stored in a local SQLite database.
- FIT exports Completed FIT files are written to Rydos's own Exports folder. Nothing leaves the app until you choose to share a file yourself, through the iOS share sheet.
- Diagnostics Settings → Diagnostics can export the most recent 1,000 logged connection events as a JSON file. This only happens when you ask for it, and you choose where the file goes.
Deleting the Rydos app deletes this database and these exported files along with it.
Apple Health
Optional, and separate in both directions
Health access is never required to record or export a ride. Reading and writing are asked for at different times, for different reasons, and each can be turned off independently.
- Writing to Health Asked for the first time you turn on Health export in Settings. When granted, Rydos can save completed real workouts (cycling, rowing, running) along with the heart rate, speed, cadence, power and distance you recorded. Demo rides are never written to Health.
- Reading from Health Asked for separately, the first time you open the Health tab and connect. When granted, Rydos reads your workouts plus a handful of summary values — resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, VO2 max, body mass, height, sleep, steps and active energy — to show your training alongside the rides Rydos recorded.
Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with any third party. It stays on your device and inside Apple's Health app, under your control.
What we do not collect
Plainly, what Rydos never asks for
- No account or sign-in of any kind.
- No analytics and no crash reporting.
- No advertising identifier and no ad tracking.
- No cookies or trackers on this website.
- No location. Rydos never requests your location.
Your choices
You're in control of all of it
- Revoke Health access Manage or remove Rydos's Health permissions any time in the Health app, under Sharing → Apps.
- Turn off automatic export Settings → Auto-share activities has independent switches for FIT and Apple Health — turn either off whenever you like.
- Delete everything Deleting the Rydos app removes its local database and exported files. Health data already written to Apple Health is not removed when you delete Rydos — manage or delete it separately in the Health app.
Still to be decided
What this policy doesn't cover yet
Rydos does not yet have a registered company name, a legal entity, a postal address, or a nominated jurisdiction or GDPR representative. Those will be added here once they exist, rather than invented for this page.
