Support

Rydos is a small, independent app. Here's how to get help, what's useful to include, and fixes for the issues people hit most.

How to get help

Email us

The fastest way to reach us is [email protected]. Rydos doesn't have a phone line, a live chat or a social media account — email is the only channel.

Rydos is under active development by a small team, so replies may take a few days.

What to include in a report

Help us reproduce it

The more of this you can include, the faster we can work out what happened.

  • App version Settings → About, inside Rydos.
  • iPhone model and iOS version Settings → General → About, on your iPhone.
  • Equipment make and model The name your bike, trainer or sensor advertises — for example, TF-21B1D8 — visible on Rydos's Sensors screen or on the device itself.
  • What happened What you expected, what happened instead, and the steps that led to it.

Known limitations

What Rydos doesn't do yet

  • Compatibility isn't guaranteed Rydos implements standard Bluetooth fitness profiles, but only one bike — advertised as TF-21B1D8 — has been physically tested. Other equipment exposing the same profiles may work, but it isn't certified.
  • Heart-rate target control is experimental It changes resistance gradually and hasn't been validated across every trainer. It isn't a precise or medically safe way to hit a heart-rate target.
  • No automatic Garmin upload Rydos exports a FIT file you import into Garmin Connect on the web yourself. It doesn't upload finished activities to Garmin automatically, and a normal Garmin account doesn't grant that integration.
  • No cloud backup Rides and exports live only on your iPhone. There's no account, sync or off-device copy — deleting the app deletes them.

Troubleshooting

Common issues

My bike isn't found when I scan

Wake it up — pedal or press a button before scanning. A bike that's already connected to another device, such as the Mac bridge or a laptop running Garmin/Zwift, can't also connect to Rydos over Bluetooth at the same time; disconnect it there first. Then confirm your bike actually advertises a supported profile — see the compatibility table on the main site.

A sensor won't reconnect

Saved sensors reconnect automatically on launch or when Bluetooth returns, but sleeping equipment needs a wake-up pedal stroke or button press first. If it still won't reconnect, remove and re-add it from Sensors.

Trainer control isn't available

Rydos only offers resistance or ERG control when the connected trainer advertises FTMS control-point support and a usable range. If your trainer doesn't report that, control won't appear — that's a hardware limitation, not a bug.

FIT export doesn't offer the destination I want

Rydos hands the FIT file to iOS's share sheet; which apps appear there depends on iOS and what's installed. Garmin Connect isn't guaranteed to appear as a share destination on every device — import the file manually at Garmin Connect on the web instead.

Diagnostics

Share diagnostics with a report

Settings → Diagnostics exports the most recent 1,000 logged Bluetooth and connection events as a JSON file. It only happens when you choose to share it, and you decide where it goes. Attaching this file to your email helps us see exactly what your equipment sent, without needing your device in hand.
